This is the start of my full-time freelance journey and I couldn't be more excited. I'm excited about the challenges I'm about to face and the problems I'll have the opportunity of solving, not only as I navigate my creative career, but in design. The rush of seeing a problem and finding the solution I can compare with the satisfying feeling of checking off a to-do from my never ending list of things to get done.
Design isn't just about making things look pretty, although that is a huge bonus in bringing order to this chaotic world, but it's about solving problems. It's about communicating a message to an audience. It's about pushing the boundaries of how one might perceive the world and impacting them with a new way of thinking.
Design makes everything possible. Just think about how the chair you're sitting in is designed, the way your iPhone functions, and the way that poster grabs your attention. All of it has been designed and influences how you interact with the world. I like to think I'm doing my part in designing projects that not only look better but function better. Like helping a business become more personable or the charity gain more donor dollars because that's really the end goal.
Now, let's get creative and solve some problems
